TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST - INTERNATIONAL PRODUCTION UNITS
Our client is a global bioscience company that develops natural ingredient solutions for the food, nutritional, pharmaceutical and agricultural industries. Products include cultures, enzymes, probiotics and natural colors, and all solutions are based on strong research and development competencies coupled with significant technology investments.
WHAT PROFESSIONAL PROFILE ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
A Technology Specialist – International production units, a newly established role that will become focal point for implementation and optimization of all new equipment in our Client’s Natural Colors Division that includes 7 factories on 4 continents.
Your focus will be to create a more efficient production setup guided by key words such as new technology, automation, harmonization and process stability. You will ensure data correctness, analyze data to drive continuous improvements and ensure a good implementation of the group automation platform and Manufacturing Execution System (MES). In overview your primary tasks will be to:
- Implement a system for upgrade of the Production Automation platform, globally
- Implement a system for data management and automated OEE, globally
- Define and implement a global system for Continuous Improvements based on data analysis
- Carry out product reviews and decrease process variations – to lower overconcentration
- Evaluate ideas and requests for new equipment and participate in all major and strategic projects related to installation of new equipment
- Evaluate equipment condition and make sure it lives up to best practice in the group
- Evaluate new process technology
As our Client is about to take the production setup to the next level via a global automation project lasting for the next 2-3 years, you will naturally be highly involved in this, starting with Denmark, Italy and the US. As such, you can look forward to travel approximately 50 - 60 days per year to peer with colleagues and partners.
Your closest business partners will become your colleagues in Manufacturing Excellence and Global Engineering that will handle most of the practical work related to design, erection etc.
WHAT SKILLS WILL WE VERIFY?
You have a technical degree specialized in process engineering, production engineering or similar. This is backed by a 10 years’ experience from a position in a modern production setup. This has provided you with a solid overall technical knowledge including automation and Continuous Improvement/LEAN/Six Sigma. It is preferred a strong background in Food/Beverage Industry, Food/Beverage Technology.
Additionally, you have project management experience from change projects – and you know how to get things done through people who don’t report to you.
Your English is fluent (both speak and written) and you are available to travel abroad.
As driver for change you will need all of your communication skills and your ability to get buy-in for your ideas. This includes a structured and analytical mind-set and the ability to build your argumentation on facts. As the division’s new focal point within technology optimization you must also thrive on defining and driving your projects and tasks independently and proactively.
You will be part of the Global Technical department in Product Supply, and your work place will be in Parma.
